PMMS are proud to support the Disability Aid Trust. The Trust has been established since 1981, the International Year of Disabled People, a number of working groups were formed to look at various aspects of living with disability. One of these looked at leisure for the disabled. The group identified that people with disabilities seeking a holiday would need assistance to pay for a helper to go with them.
At the beginning, with the help of a Tour Operator and the International Association of Tour Managers, they assisted with funding to launch the Trust. Disability Aid Trust (DAT) became a national registered charity when the original working party members agreed to become trustees, with 98% of all money raised awarded in grants.
DAT constantly seeks donations from Industry and Commerce, and we’re proud of our track record in helping over 4,000 disabled people take that all important break, in many cases allowing the permanent carer the benefit of essential relief from those they care for every day.
